- Began refining vinyl chloride at the Niihama Plant as the Ichimiya Construction Vinyl Plant.

- Commenced development of products using vinyl chloride as the main raw material, and began commercial production of the first vinyl flooring material.

- The Ichimiya Construction Vinyl Plant was established as a separate company, newly established as Nissen Chemical Industry Co.
